Dear Colleagues,

As a follow-up to my January 23, 2023 announcement regarding leadership transition in the School of Law, I want to share that I have named Professor Haider Ala Hamoudi as Interim Dean.

Haider came to Pitt as an Assistant Professor of Law in 2007, and was promoted to Vice Dean on July 1, 2018 from the position of Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, a position he had held from July 1, 2017.  From 2013 to 2017, he served as Associate Dean of Research and Faculty Development.

Leadership Transition in the School of Law

January 23, 2023

Dear Colleagues,

I am writing to inform you that, effective today, January 23, 2023, Amy Wildermuth has resigned from her role as Dean of the School of Law in order to re-engage in academic pursuits and assume a tenured faculty role.

I am grateful that Vice Dean Haider Ala Hamoudi has agreed to assume day-to-day oversight of the school until I name an Interim Dean and subsequently announce a search for Amy’s successor. I look forward to supporting the School of Law during this transition and in the time ahead.

Best,
Ann
