Faculty Workshops
Faculty development workshops and other professional development workshops on a wide variety of topics are offered by the Office of the Provost throughout the year to facilitate productive and rewarding academic careers for all faculty.
Faculty Orientations and Retreats
A variety of orientation programs are held each year to welcome, inform, and pave the way to success for new part-time faculty, full-time faculty, chairs, associate deans, and regional campus vice presidents. An annual retreat for chairs, associate deans, and regional campus Vice Presidents is also on the calendar.
Workshops and Seminars on Teaching
The University Center for Teaching and Learning also provides a variety of workshops, seminars, and resources for faculty. Workshops and programming include book and film discussions, training on instructional technologies, workshops that provide guidance on best teaching practices, and more.
Additional Faculty Development Opportunities
Faculty play a central role in the University of Pittsburgh, and the Office of the Provost provides a number of professional development and academic leadership opportunities to promote faculty success at Pitt.
