Students with Disabilities

The University of Pittsburgh is committed to providing equal opportunities in higher education to students with documented disabilities. Disability Resources and Services (DRS) is the designated department of the University to determine reasonable accommodations and services.

Should a student disclose disability related information and request accommodations in your course, you should refer the student to DRS to start the accommodation process. Call 412-648-7890 or visit the DRS website.

It is recommended that faculty include the following statement on their course syllabi: “If you have a disability for which you are or may be requesting an accommodation, you are encouraged to contact both your instructor and Disability Resources and Services, 412-648-7890 as early as possible in the term.”

DRS is available as a resource to assist faculty in understanding and implementing reasonable accommodations.
